If you’ve driven down Martin Luther King Dr in Bastrop, you’ve probably seen the building. It’s big. It’s got a lot of logos on it. And if you’ve ever wondered what’s actually going on inside Bastrop Fitness Project, we’re about to tell you. Because it’s kind of ridiculous how much is packed into one cool address.

Bastrop Fitness Project at 303 Martin Luther King Dr, Bastrop, TX 78602 is a fitness and wellness ecosystem under one roof. Jiu jitsu. Muay Thai. Strength and conditioning. A supervised indoor kids playground. A sports chiropractor. Saunas and cold plunges. A cafe. And yes, 24/7 gym access. All in the same building. All working together. Most of us literally share walls.

We’re 10th Planet Airlock. We’re one of the businesses inside this building. And we think the whole setup is one of the best things about training in Bastrop. If you’re new to the area, this is a great introduction to what’s available. Let us walk you through it.

10th Planet Airlock: No-Gi Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai

This is us. 10th Planet Airlock has been at Bastrop Fitness Project since July 4, 2023. We teach no-gi jiu jitsu, Muay Thai and kickboxing, kids jiu jitsu (ages 5 and up), and a free women’s jiu jitsu class every Thursday. We were voted the #1 Best Martial Arts Gym in Bastrop County in 2025. We’re pretty proud of that.

Our head instructor is Rei Villa, a 10th Planet Black Belt, IBJJF First Degree Black Belt, and retired 20-year U.S. Army veteran. Classes run six days a week with morning and evening options. Your first class is always free.

If you want to know what walking in the door is actually like, we wrote a detailed walkthrough of your first jiu jitsu class.

Strive Strength & Conditioning: Classes, Coaching, and 24/7 Gym Access

Strive Strength & Conditioning is the strength and conditioning gym inside the building. They run group classes (Pump & Burn, etc), personal training, youth performance programs, and body composition testing. If you want coached workouts with a community behind them, that’s Strive.

They also offer 24/7 gym access for members who want to train on their own schedule. Weights, cardio equipment, and open floor space available around the clock. For our Airlock members specifically, you can add 24/7 Strive gym access (not classes, just access to the gym and weights) for only $10/month. That’s a pretty solid deal if you want to lift before or after jiu jitsu.

We also offer bundle pricing with Strive for members who want to combine martial arts and strength training. Ask us for details on that.

Saunas and Cold Plunges: Recovery Done Right

Strive also runs a recovery room with infrared saunas and cold plunges. If you’ve ever wondered what people mean when they talk about “hot/cold therapy” for recovery, this is it. The infrared saunas help with muscle tension, detox, and relaxation. The cold plunges reduce inflammation, speed up muscle recovery, and make you feel like a winner.

After a hard jiu jitsu session, walking next door to sit in a sauna or jump in a cold plunge is genuinely one of the best recovery tools available. And it’s in the same building. You don’t have to drive anywhere.

Wild Child Bastrop: Indoor Playground for Kids Ages 2-10

This is the one that changes the game for parents. Wild Child Bastrop is a supervised indoor playground for kids ages 2 to 10. Drop-in play, birthday parties, Parents Night Out, summer camps, and even classes like hip-hop dance and their Wild Ninjas PE program.

Here’s why this matters if you’re a parent thinking about jiu jitsu (or any training at BFP): you can drop your kids at Wild Child and go train in the same building. If you’ve been searching for a gym with childcare in Bastrop, this is it. Your kid is playing on a clean, safe, screen-free playground 50 feet from where you’re rolling on the mat. You don’t have to find a babysitter. You don’t have to choose between your training and your kids. You do both. At the same time. In the same building.

This is not a small thing. We’ve had parents tell us this is the reason they were finally able to start training consistently.

Revive Sport and Spine: Sports Chiropractic

Revive Sport and Spine is the sports chiropractic spot in the building, run by Dr. Fielding and Dr. Halma. They do chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, cupping, shockwave therapy, soft tissue manipulation, functional movement rehab, and pregnancy care.

The “sports” in sports chiropractic matters here. Every visit starts with movement-based testing to find imbalances and compensation patterns, and they build a treatment plan around how you actually move. If you’re training jiu jitsu or Muay Thai regularly and something starts feeling off, having a sports chiropractor in the same building who understands what your body is going through is incredibly convenient. Check their website for new patient info.

Bastrop Cafe: Coffee, Smoothies, and Post-Training Fuel

Bastrop Cafe is right in the building lobby. Espresso, coffee, smoothies, teas, and snacks. They’re a real cafe with a full menu, and you can also order through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Favor.

Here’s the detail most people don’t know: even outside of the cafe’s regular business hours, their snack and drink options are still available for purchase. Our members regularly grab protein shakes, snacks, and LMNTs from over there before and after training. It’s the kind of small thing that makes a big difference when you just finished an hour of rolling and need something immediately.

Why This Setup Works

Most gyms are one thing. A place to lift. A place to do a class. A place to drop off your kids. Bastrop Fitness Project is all of those things in one location, and the businesses inside it genuinely complement each other.

A realistic Tuesday at BFP might look like this: bring your kid to their 4:30 jiu jitsu class while you have a coffee and get some work done in the cafe. Then, drop the kid at Wild Child for an hour while you step onto the 10P Airlock mat for the 5:30 adult jiu jitsu class. Train for an hour. Grab a protein shake from Bastrop Cafe. Pick up your kid. Go home. You just got world-class martial arts training, your kid had a blast, and nobody had to coordinate a babysitter or drive to three different places.

Or this: hit a Strive Cross Training class in the morning. Do a sauna session after. Come back in the evening for Muay Thai at Airlock. See the sports chiropractor on Thursday because your shoulder is acting up from all this activity you’re suddenly doing. All in the same building. All on the same block of your week.

That’s the whole idea of Bastrop Fitness Project. It’s not just one gym. It’s a building full of people who are all working on the same thing from different angles.
