We’ve also added new time slots for you busy folks who need more options for training. Check out the new schedule below:

Airlock Jiu Jitsu Class Schedule 2024

Today I thought I’d break down some of the new exciting classes we’re offering to give you a bit of an idea of what to expect. Let’s start with…

Adult Self Defense Classes – Wednesdays at 5:30 pm at Airlock Jiu Jitsu

You asked for it, you got it! We noticed 2 things were happening when we opened our doors. First, we had a lot of people who were interested in self-defense, but weren’t necessarily ready to jump into the whole ocean of jiu jitsu. Second, with his extensive background in combat training, Coach Rei Villa was itching to teach people things about self-defense that simply don’t fit into our usual jiu jitsu classes. And so, a new class has been born!

Our adult self-defense class covers so many topics you should know: dealing with your options in various realistic self-defense situations, how to handle defense and attacks with weapons like knives and guns, and how to manage distance and get out of a bad situation before it even starts. We want to bring you real-world scenarios and options.

NOTE: You do not have to be a full member of Airlock to attend the self-defense class. If you prefer to only train at that class, we have a drop-in rate for you. However, our full members do get to attend that class and the whole lineup of classes! NOTE #2: If you are attending Adult Self Defense Class, you can wear anything that you might wear to a normal jiu jitsu class – athletic clothes that you can move in or jiu jitsu rash guards. If you have a pair of pants/shorts with pockets in them, we encourage you to wear or bring those since pockets allow us to conceal practice weapons. The only thing we ask is no metal zippers or buttons on pants – we don’t want to tear up our mats.

Wrestling for Jiu Jitsu – Fridays at 11:30 am at Airlock Jiu Jitsu

Our other shiny, new class is our wrestling for jiu jitsu class during the Friday lunch slot. This class is going to cover all the standup aspects and tactics that you need to know to control your opponent and bring them down to the ground. Too often in jiu jitsu, we spend our time dealing with ground fighting. And that’s not a bad thing! Most fights do end up on the ground. But it’s important to round out your game so that YOU are the one taking your opponent to the ground through effective takedowns and throws. Wrestling for jiu jitsu is the class for you if you want to learn how to be more effective on your feet!

Competition Jiu Jitsu Class – Fridays at 5:30 pm at Airlock Jiu Jitsu

Our final new class is our competition class, every Friday evening to end the week. This class is not limited to active competitors. It’s for anyone who wants to get an amazing workout in, focusing on competition situational drilling and good ol’ fashioned hard rolling rounds. Come on in and get your sweat on to end your week with us.

NOTE: Our competition class is in the same time slot as our previous Veterans Jiu Jitsu class. The competition class is still absolutely FREE each week for Veterans, LEOs, and First Responders. And don’t forget that we offer discounts for Vets, LEOs, FRs as well!

So come check out the new schedule, new classes, and new class times here at Airlock Jiu Jitsu in Bastrop, TX for some of the best no gi jiu jitsu around!
